Hitomi Ikeda is a New York–based master colorist, founder of the Foilyage® method, and international educator.

For nearly three decades, she has built her career within some of New York City’s most respected salon environments, including more than fifteen years at the renowned Louis Licari Salon on Fifth Avenue. She later served as Creative Director and Educator for Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas, helping shape educational programs and mentoring professionals across multiple locations.

Today, she continues to work with clients in both Fifth Avenue and Williamsburg, Brooklyn — bringing together the timeless sophistication of Manhattan with the creative energy of one of New York’s most dynamic neighborhoods.

As the creator of the Foilyage® method, Hitomi has educated hairstylists internationally, focusing not simply on technique, but on the decision-making process behind successful color design. Her educational philosophy emphasizes understanding the “why” behind each choice, empowering professionals to adapt their approach to the person sitting in front of them.
